It is very important that our thinking be proper! The thing that motivates, empowers, strengthens, and causes a Christian to rejoice is to think Godly thoughts. If a person is thinking worldly, earthly, human thoughts he is wide open to satanic influences and evil infiltration. To see life only from a horizontal vantage point is tragic. A Spirit filled, Word intoxicated, Christ loving person who applies the Truth of God consistently will be victorious and PRODUCTIVE!

Psalm 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain thee."

1st Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him, for He careth for you.” (Casting all your anxiety on Him, because to Him it matters concerning you.)

Philippians 4:7 "The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep (garrison) your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

2nd Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Deuteronomy 6:5 "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart (mind), and with all thy soul, and with all thy might."

Colossians 3:1,2 “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set you affection on things above, not on things on the earth." "Set your affection on" means keep thinking about the upward things.

Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

John 15:12 "This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you."

The Christian way of life is determined by our thinking. Our thinking is determined by our relationship to our Lord and His eternal message!

Pastor Roy A. Cloudt
Grace Bible Church

1. Apostasy is always some form of rejection of God’s message. A person who is an apostate is non-perceptive to the Word of God. He is not interested in daily consistent growth. There is a continual, perpetual rejection and rebellion to the Word of God and the communicator of the Word (Heb 12:4-15).

2. There is a difference between apostasy and carnality just as there is a difference between spirituality and maturity.

· An apostate is a non-perceptive Christian naturally out of tune and harmony with God and His Word.

· Carnality is the state of an otherwise perceptive Christian out of harmony and fellowship. He does not desire to walk apart from fellowship, therefore is anxious to pray and be restored to a right relationship with Jesus Christ.

3. Spirituality is an absolute state whereby the Holy Spirit controls the soul of the believer.

4. The Grace Abounding Life (GAL—the high road of God’s magnificent grace) is a relative state whereby the Word of God has a maximum influence on the life of the Christian.

5. Carnality is an absolute state wherein a person is out of harmony and fellowship with Jesus Christ.

6. Apostasy is a relative state of spiritual failure of the believer due to the presence of evil in his/her life (evil is the philosophy, policy, design and thought pattern of Satan specifically aimed at the soul of man).

7. The Carnal Christian is perceptive to God’s message or can be, but the Apostate is rejecting and perpetually rebelling to the proclamation of God’s truth. (Some people say they love the Bible but really prefer “worship” services made up of entertainment, emotional emphasis, testimonies, and music rather than the exegetical study of Scripture.)

8. The Carnal Christian can be restored immediately by means of prayer—1 John 1:9. The Apostate, however, normally has such a saturation and pollution of Evil in the Soul that it takes many years to remove the deep scars. The soul grip of evil and Satanic thought patterns is unbelievable. The only way is perception and a crash diet of Bible study.

9. An Apostate is a person who is constantly influenced by evil—Satan’s thinking.

· Our Lord blesses a person who is influenced by the Bible.

· Our Lord disciplines the person influenced by evil.

10. A person who is consistently ruled by emotions is generally apostate (2 Cor 6:11, 12; Rom 16:17, 18).

· When the emotions of the soul take over in a person’s life then that person responds to the weaknesses of the sinful nature rather than the strength of God’s message. Emotions then become the ruler and the Bible is reduced to an insignificant position and neutralized.

· No matter how good a thing is within itself, if it begins to counter-act or render ineffective God’s message then it becomes terrible–horrible–evil.

· There is nothing wrong with emotions. No one would want to be without emotions provided that they do not rule and reign over the life.

· Emotions are God’s means of appreciation in the soul.

11. An apostate Christian is a person walking in life with an emptiness of Spiritual Truth in his mind—thus the mind is defiled. A person who is negative to God’s Word is always positive to evil (Eph 4:17, 18)

· He is not demon possessed (1Cor 6:19, 20).

· He is demon influenced and evil possessed.

The Doctrine of Anti-Semitism

1. Definitions:

A. American College Dictionary: “One hostile to the Jews.”

B. Funk and Wagnall’s Dictionary: “Opposition to, prejudice against, or intolerance of the Jewish People”

C. The term comes from the word “Semitic” which derives from the name of one of Noah’s sons, Shem. Although anti-Semitism is almost exclusively applied to those specifically hostile to Jews, the term “Semitic” applies to any of the peoples of the earth descended from Shem. The Jews are but one branch of the Semitic peoples.

D. The Semitic peoples include the ancient Assyrians, Midianites, Chaldeans, Moabites, Edomites, and Ammonites. Modern day peoples with at least some Semitic ancestry include Arabs, Syrians, so-called Palestinians, Jordanians, Lebanese, and even some Ethiopians! The tragedy is that many of these peoples are and have historically been among the most virulently anti-Semitic.

E. The term “anti-Semitic” is used to mean intolerance, hatred, prejudice, opposition to, and persecution of the Jews.

F. God formed the Jewish race for the specific purpose of being the instrument for the dissemination of the Gospel. Therefore, anti- Semitism is satanic.

G. God selected Abram, a believing Gentile of pure Chaldean extraction, and the ninth in the line from Shem, to be the father of the Jewish race.

2. The prophecy of anti-Semitism is found in Genesis 3:15. The source of anti-Semitism is Satan.

3. There are racial, religious, and regenerate Jews.

A. The Jewish race includes anyone who has the genes of one of the 12 sons of Jacob. Abram became a Jew at age 100, and his name was changed to Abraham. Isaac (laughter) was born to Abraham and Sarah in their old age, fulfilling the promise of Gen 12:1-3. Jacob was the son of Isaac, and the name Jacob was changed to Israel.

B. Religious Jews are those who follow a religious system which is actually a distortion of the Mosaic Law, and a counterfeit of Grace. Religion and regeneration are antithetical. Religious people work to get God’s best, whereas people oriented to Grace realize that salvation “…is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Eph 2:8, 9

C. Regenerate Jews are those who have personally accepted Jesus Christ as Savior.

4. The United States and anti-Semitism

A. Under the Constitution, this nation has made personal religion a matter of the privacy of the individual.

B. Other than the Bible, the Declaration of Independence is the best document for the protection of the Jews.

C. Race in the United States was never officially an issue until the last few years.

D. The constitutional rights of a citizen of the United States of America are not to be related to race or religion.

Pastor Roy A. Cloudt
Grace Bible Church

1. Adversity is the outside pressure of life. Stress is the inside pressure of the soul.

2. Adversity is what circumstances do to you. Stress is what you do to yourself.

3. Adversity is inevitable. Stress is optional.

4. Stress in the soul destroys the spiritual life of the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

· Stress produces self-fragmentation and Christian degeneracy.

· Stress results in inner tensions that cause disassociation, mental disorders, and personality dysfunction.

· Unchecked and perpetuated stress eventually results in psychosis in the believer.

5. Conversion of gnosis into epignosis—metabolized biblical truth through full perception—prevents the conversion of the outside pressure of adversity into the inner pressure of stress.

6. The utilization of epignosis truth results in the creation of problem-solving devices.

Principles:

1. There is a definite negative relationship between stress and cognition.

2. Stress impairs your memory and makes you forgetful.

3. Stress, therefore, impairs the ability to learn.

4. Stress adversely affects one’s perception of reality.

5. When stress is removed, cognitive ability is restored.

6. If a person remains in a chronic state of stress, eventually all of their cognitive ability will be destroyed and they will enter into a psychotic state.

· When the rate of learning exceeds the rate of forgetting, truth is established in the soul.

· When the rate of forgetting exceeds the rate of learning, eventually truth is erased.

· When the rate of forgetting exceeds the rate of learning, then the outside pressure of adversity is converted into the inside pressure of stress in the soul.

Pastor Roy A. Cloudt
Grace Bible Church

Introduction: Regeneration begins the new life in the soul. Justification deals with the new attitude of God toward that soul—and the soul toward God. Adoption admits man into the family of God.

Regeneration has to do with our change in nature. Justification, with our change in standing. Sanctification, with our change in character. Adoption, with our change in position.

In regeneration, the believer becomes a child of God. (John 1:12, 13)

In adoption, the believer receives a place as an adult son.

Galatians 4:1-7 <sup>1</sup>“Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant through he be lord of all;

2“But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

3“Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

4“But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his son, made of a woman, made under the law,

5“To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

6“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father.

7“Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

1. History of Adoption: In Paul’s day, it was a Roman custom that a child was placed under slaves and teachers during childhood. At the age of 14, the child graduated from a period of discipline and was recognized as an adult member of the family. The ceremony for this recognition was called “ui.oθesi,a”, which we find in Ephesians 1:5. At this ceremony, the father came in with a robe over his arm and a ring on his hand. The robe was called a Toga Vorilis. The father would say, “I, your father, now recognize you as an adult member of this family.” He would shake his hand (arm) and then put the robe upon him. He was then free to function as an adult citizen in the Roman world. Paul takes this custom and describes spiritual adoption in Galatians 4.

2. The Meaning of Adoption:

a. Adoption means the placing of a son.

It is a legal metaphor as regeneration is a physical one.

It is a Roman work—hardly used among Jews.

b. Adoption means the taking by one man of the son of another to be his son, so that that son has the same position and all the advantages of the son by birth.

c. Adoption is a Pauline work. Galatians 4:5; Romans 8:15, 23; 9:4; Ephesians 1:5

3. The How of Adoption:

Ephesians 1:4 & 5 gives us the “How”. The baptism of the Hold Spirit takes place at the moment of salvation, at which time the child of God is free to operate as an adult heavenly citizen. John 3:3; John 3:7, Galatians 3:26; Titus 3:5

In a certain sense, adoption is eternal in its nature. Ephesians 1:4, 5.

The incarnation was foreordained, and it took place in time.

The Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world—but actually only on Calvary.

Why mention this eternal aspect of adoption? TO EXCLUDE WORKS!! Salvation had its origin solely in the GRACE OF GOD. Romans 9:4-11

4. The When of Adoption:

It takes place the moment one believes in Jesus Christ. I John 3:2; Galatians 3:26. John 1:12

Our sonship will be completed at the resurrection and coming again of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 8:23

5. The Results of Adoption:

Galatians 4:5 and Romans 8:15 tell us that we are free to serve God by taking advantage of all His provisions. Before salvation, we are on the outside of the prison house of sin with Jesus Christ, the One free man who saved us. This freedom makes possible a relationship with Christ, which results in a victorious and fruitful life.

6. The Blessings of Adoption:

a. We are objects of God’s peculiar love. John 17:23

b. We are objects of His Fatherly care. Luke 12:27-33

c. We have the family name. I John 3:1; Eph. 3:14,15

d. We have the family likeness. Romans 3:29

e. We have the family love. John 13:35; I John 3:14

f. We have Fatherly chastisement. Hebrews 12:5-11

g. We have Fatherly comfort. Isaiah 66:13; II Cor. 1:4

h. We have an inheritance. I Peter 1:3-5

7. Some Evidences of Sonship (Adoption):

a. Led by the Spirit. Romans 8:4; Galatians 5:18

b. Have a childlike confidence in God. Galatians 4:5,6

c. Have liberty of access. Ephesians 3:12

d. Have love for the brethren. I John 2:9-11

e. Are obedient. I John 5: 1-3

8. Future of Adoption:

Because we have been adopted into the family of God, we are heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:17 “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

We are assured of ultimate sanctification, a resurrection body, a time when we will not have a sinful nature and an eternity with Jesus Christ.

TO KNOW JESUS IS TO HAVE ALL HE HAS PROVIDED.

Pastor Roy A. Cloudt
Grace Bible Church

I. Isaac’s Father: Abraham

A. Abraham had received a specific promise in Genesis 15 and 17 that he would have a son from his own loins. Abraham came to a conclusion based on facts that this would be done, and without his or Sarah’s help.

B. Abraham and Sarah were marvelously changed in old age and at 100 and 90 years of age had this son, Isaac.

C. When Isaac was a young man, Abraham was instructed to take him and offer him for a burnt-offering. Gen 22:2. This was to test the spiritual food which Abraham had in his soul. The test was: Are the blessings more important than the one who gave them?

D. Abraham got to the Echo Zone and held by saying, "The Giver is more important than the Gift" Remember: When the GIFT is more important than the GIVER then there is no CAPACITY. CLF comes from looking at the source rather than the gift.

E. The only way Abraham could have been prepared for such a time of pressure was for him to be locked-in on the mountain peak of maturity. This reveals to us the importance of getting into our souls spiritual food every single day.

F. Abraham was willing and ready to cut his son’s throat because he had already calculated, based upon spiritual food resident in his soul, that God would raise him up. Heb 11:19

II. Isaac

A. Abraham and Sarah laughed about having a child in their old age. Gen 17:17; 18:10-14

B. God said "Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac (Hebrew word is jitzchaq, which means laughter)

C. Isaac’s birth was 2061 BC

D. Forty years later a servant found Isaac a wife – 2021 BC

E. Twenty years after this, Isaac and Rebekah had twins: Jacob and Esau

F. Esau was delivered first but with Jacob the "Heelcatcher" trying to be the first.

G. Esau was "hairy" – Isaac’s favorite

H. Jacob was "hairless" – Rebekah’s favorite

I. Very different individuals (fraternal twins)

J. Jacob was a believer, Esau was an unbeliever – Rom 9

K. Isaac was a weak person who became strong in facing a test of deception. It was Spiritual maturity that made it possible for Isaac to make right decisions and to see from God’s vantage point.

L. Isaac understood the elder-younger relationship, Gen 25:23. "Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy womb; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people, and the elder shall serve the younger" Isaac knew and understood this truth.

M. Heb 11:20 reveals that Isaac blessed Jacob in the Covenant and Esau out of the covenant.

III. Isaac’s Application of the Abrahamic Covenant

A. It was apparent to Isaac that, lost Esau could not inherit or perpetuate the principles of the Abrahamic Covenant.

B. As much as Isaac loved Esau, he knew that the unbeliever was excluded from the Abrahamic Covenant. Esau way not a Jew. We have Jacob, a Jew and Esau a gentile. How can this be true with the same mother and the same father? Answer: They do not have the same LORD. One is born-again, the other is not! Rom 9:6-14

C. Isaac made the decision based upon SFRIS to move right on in spite of Esau’s protest over the blessing going to Jacob rather than the older brother, Esau.

D. Isaac advanced by SFRIS just as anyone in our day advances.

E. Isaac died in 1881 BC, 180 years old, crossed the Golden Bridge Gen 35:27-29 (SFRIS =Spiritual Food Residing in the Soul)
